[G barre (on guitar)]
I sat on the street,
[Hm]
You came,
[D]
And helped,
[A]
me rise.
[G barre (on guitar)]
Now thanks to you,
[Hm]
My life is,
[D]
Back, on
[A]
track.
[G barre (on guitar)]
You helped me,
[Hm]
Rise,
[D]
And now I,
[A]
Owe you my life.
[G barre (on guitar)]
I will stand,
[Hm]
Right here,
[D]
Besides you,
[A]
Til the end of the time.
[Em]
But there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Telling me not
[A]
to rise
[Em]
And there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Telling me I
[A]
Can't suffice.
[Em]
And there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Will you help me
[A]
uu-uuu-p
[E]
a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
And only God knows
[A]
Why-yy-y
[C]
[D7]
[Em]
[C]
[D7]
[Em]
[G barre (on guitar)]
How can
[Hm]
I repay,
[D]
what you,
[A]
Did?
[G barre (on guitar)]
You were,
[Hm]
So kind,
[D]
Till the end
[A]
Of time.
[G barre (on guitar)]
To you,
[Hm]
Grace is,
[D]
A natural,
[A]
Thing.
[G barre (on guitar)]
You saved me,
[Hm]
And helped me,
[D]
How do I
[A]
Repay?
[Em]
But there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Telling me not
[A]
To pay.
[Em]
And there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Telling me I,
[A]
Can't suffice.
[Em]
And a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Will you help
[A]
Me rise?
[Em]
A sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Saying my life
[A]
Is bare.
[C]
Should I believe it?
[D7]
Or should I just leave it?
[Em]
Please tell me now.
[C]
Should I believe it?
[D7]
Or should I just leave it?
[Em]
Please tell me now.
[Em]
'Cos there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Will you help,
[A]
Me rise?
[Em]
'Cos there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
Will you help,
[A]
Uuu-uup
[Em]
'Cos there's a sad song
[G]
Singing in my ear,
[D]
And only God
[A]
knows why.

Really good! I am going to try to play this on my bass. Your song is really touching. I understand how is it like when you are being kicked around or you don't know how to repay to people that help you. Really good. Just to let you know I am comeing back to Finland. Maybe we can both write songs and play music
I like the choruses, but I'm not entirely sure where you're going. Are you saying that you want to repay someone but you can't or that you don't want to repay them? I'm a little bit confused - maybe make them clearer. I like the second half the chorus though... about not being able to suffice.
I think you want repay rather than pay back.
I feel like this verse is a little awkward... the wording and all. Maybe change it to something like "Grace is your everything and all that you are"
I think you want repay at the end here too.
How does the strum pattern go?
